Why am I doing
Primal Quest?
I discovered the sport of Adventure Racing back in 2003 while
watching ECO-Challenge Fiji. I was immediately drawn to the sport, with
its exotic locations, varying disciplines and the fact that it is a team
sport. I told myself that one day I was going to do races the size and
scope of the ECO-Challenge. The ECO-Challenge no longer exists but, Primal
Quest has taken its place as the biggest and most challenging race in
the sport. I have been able to work my way up through different races
distances and skill level and feel ready to tackle the biggest one of
them all.
I enjoy the sense of accomplish Adventure Racing gives me at the end of
the day, and have discovered that there really is no limit to what the
human body and mind can put itself through. Primal Quest will provide
the opportunity to really see what I am made of – all the while
not only trying to get myself across the finish line, but helping my teammates
reach the finish as well. It truly is a team sport and I enjoy the team
environment and challenges that teams face during a race.
My overall goal is to walk, ride, or paddle across the finish line in
one piece and to do so as a team, knowing that we did our best, gave it
our all, worked as a team and had the time of our lives.
